American punk rock band Rise Against have recorded material for seven studio albums. The band was formed in Chicago, Illinois, in 1999 by former 88 Fingers Louie and Baxter members Joe Principe and Tim McIlrath, under the name Transistor Revolt. The group later expanded when they added guitarist Dan "Precision" Wlekinski and drummer Brandon Barnes to the line-up. The band produced one self-released demo EP, ''Transistor Revolt'', before signing a contract with Fat Wreck Chords. In April 2001, the band (now under the name of Rise Against) began working with producer Mass Giorgini on their debut studio album, ''The Unraveling''. Wlekinski left the band in 2001, and was replaced by Todd Mohney.〔 In April 2003, Rise Against released their second studio album, ''Revolutions per Minute.'' The record, produced by Bill Stevenson and Jason Livermore, included two promotional singles, "Like the Angel" and "Heaven Knows."〔 In December 2003, Rise Against signed onto DreamWorks Records (later Geffen Records). Mohney left the band shortly after signing with DreamWorks, and was replaced by Chris Chasse.〔 The band began working on their third studio album, ''Siren Song of the Counter Culture'', which was produced by Garth Richardson. The album would prove to be a breakthrough success, becoming their first album to crack the US Billboard 200 (136). The album produced three singles, "Give It All," "Swing Life Away," and "Life Less Frightening," with "Paper Wings" being released as a promotional single. In July 2006, the group released their fourth studio album, ''The Sufferer and the Witness''. Peaking at number ten on the Billboard 200, the album once again produced three singles, "Ready to Fall," "Prayer of the Refugee," and "The Good Left Undone," with the song "Behind Closed Doors" being released as a promotional single. Shortly after the release of ''The Sufferer and the Witness'', Chasse left the band, and was replaced by Zach Blair. The band then signed onto DGC Records and Interscope Records, before releasing their fifth studio album, ''Appeal to Reason'', in October 2008. The album once more produced three singles, "Re-Education (Through Labor)," "Audience of One," and "Savior," and peaked at number three on the Billboard 200. On March 2011, Rise Against released their sixth studio album, ''Endgame'', which peaked at number two on the Billboard 200, the band's highest charting album to date. The album produced the singles "Help Is on the Way," "Make It Stop (September's Children)," "Satellite," as well as two promotional singles, "Architects," and "Wait for Me." After the release of the compilation album, ''Long Forgotten Songs: B-Sides & Covers (2000–2013)'', the band released their sixth studio album, ''The Black Market'', which produced the singles "I Don't Want to Be Here Anymore," and "Tragedy + Time." ==Songs==
